Julia’s Wedding

A few weekends ago I played piano for a past piano student’s wedding.  It was so special. I taught Julia piano for ten years.  We started her 3rd grade year and continued through high-school.

She became one of my more advanced students and eventually learned to play Clair de Lune by Debussy.  This piece of music was a favorite of her grandmother’s, who walked down the aisle to it many years before on her wedding day.  Julia often practiced at grandma Ruth’s house because she loved to hear Julia play.  Over the years I became acquainted with Ruth, who would often accompany Julia to piano lessons. She was such a special lady who loved Jesus so much.  Ruth passed away this summer, and in honor of her grandma, Julia decided to walk down the aisle to Clair de Lune too.  What a thoughtful tribute to her grandmother.

It was a special day and I was so honored to play.  Kenny and the kids attended the wedding and we all enjoyed celebrating with the happy couple at the reception.  What a glorious location with Pikes Peak & Garden of the Gods!
