April This & That

This month is flying by!  Actually, last month felt like that too!

I’m on a search committee at church that has been taking more and more time lately.  We’ve been meeting weekly (roughly) since October and we’re now into the interviewing stage.  It’s been a big commitment for our family, but an important one.  I knew that saying “yes” would mean lots of nights away from home, but I also knew it wouldn’t last forever.  I was honored to be asked to be a part of it and have really enjoyed the entire process, despite the many hours of work and meetings.  I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our church in this way, but I’m also looking forward to being finished!

More play dates with friends!

Springtime in the Rockies is a crazy thing!  Last week we had one day where all four seasons were on display – in ONE day!  I took a few pictures to document it.  In the morning I was out without a coat or jacket, and by the afternoon, I needed a coat, scarf, and gloves!  Our daffodils were so beautiful starting to bloom, and too late in the day we thought to cover them – they were already frozen.  So sad we’ll miss out on our spring flowers.

Anna has been holding a dance academy for the family a few times over the past months.  She asked the three of us to attend her ballet class and it’s been fun.  She’s been a strict teacher, asking some of us to stay after class for goofing around, and giving report cards out.  But, we’ve learned a few things too!  I snapped these pictures last time of the guys – they’ve been such good sports.  Everyone’s facial expressions are so funny.  Anna, thank you for sharing your  knowledge of ballet with us!

Kenny and the kids outdid themselves this past weekend for my birthday.  They made an amazing breakfast in bed for me!  Scrambled eggs, fruit, coffee, and crepes with several different fillings: sweetened cream cheese and berries, strawberry jam, and brie with slivered ham.  It was delicious and I so appreciated their thoughtfulness and kindness.  The other part I so enjoyed was getting some time to read in bed while they prepared.  What a gift!  After James’s birthday party that afternoon (we share a birthday weekend!) we went out for dinner to celebrate both of our birthdays which was fun too.  A wonderfully blessed day!
