A Season

Ecclesiastes 3:11 – For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.

I am tired.  We’re in a busy season right now with the kids and school – end of year field trips, projects, concerts, field day, art show, etc. – and I’m feeling it.  We decided to throw in a house project too, which adds a bit of stress and work.  Over the past couple years I’ve grown quite a bit in self-care – taking time for myself on a regular basis so I don’t crash.  However, there are seasons where the margin is little and the times to refresh are few and far between.  So, I’ve been leaning on the Lord even more and He’s been faithfully carrying me.  He is so good to do that.

I’m learning that even two minutes here and there can be renewing if I have the right perspective.  A quick devotional read helps me regain focus.  Or putting my cup of tea into a travel mug to enjoy on the road if I don’t have the time to sit and put my feet up.  Reading only one verse and focusing on it for the day when I don’t have the time to sit and study.  I’m so thankful for these little bits of refreshment and know that all seasons change eventually.  Soon we’ll be in the middle of summer with more margin.  So, in the meantime, I’ll continue to look for the blessings in these small moments of rest.
