Well, I’ve managed to kill our second betta fish. 🙁 Thank goodness James is too young to become attached to them or we’d have a problem.
In April my mom brought out her small fish tank. She’s had several bettas over the years and was ready to pass the tank on to someone else. I agreed to be the next owner; I really think James will enjoy it as he gets older. I have many fond memories of our fish tank growing up. My brother, sister, and I would all sit lined up in front of it and watch the free entertainment when we were young.
So, with Fred (our first fish) I found out I probably fed him too much. So much for following the directions on the bottle of food. This time with Fred II, I followed the advice of the pet expert at the store, and decreased his food significantly. Maybe I starved this one.
While doing some research about bettas, I read the following and started laughing (out loud)!
“The betta often works out to be a “gateway fish” because those who bring home small bowls discover the joy of fish keeping and find themselves with full scale fish tanks full of tropical fish before long.”
Maybe we’ll try a goldfish this time around. I’m giving it another whirl and then maybe we’ll be finished with the fish.
I’ve never had any experience with fish! Hope the goldfish works out better!! 🙂
I am sorry but I did laugh at your post. . .funny but sad. We want to get a fish too! Alli has been asking for months. Let me know how it goes with the goldfish. : )
