James is doing an excellent job riding his new bike!  Because we had snow on Christmas Eve, he rode down in the basement for a few days until the sidewalks were clear a little more.  We’re back to our daily walks (on most days) and we are flying through the neighborhood!  Maybe mom will finally lose a few more pounds now that we’re walking/riding at a decent pace.

James has a good balance of being cautious and adventurous which is great.  One of his favorite parts of riding his bike is wearing the Lightning McQueen helmet.  Very cool.  And, the helmet came with a bell for the bike which James is not afraid to use.  One of the first days we went out riding, we encountered some people headed toward us on the sidewalk. Just as I was about to talk to James about how to maneuver to the side, he started ringing his bell, calling, “Watch out!  Coming through!”  So, maybe we just need to talk about sidewalk manners.
