Yesterday was a busy day of cleaning up the house, doing laundry, and getting back into our daily routine. After 6 days of company and another 4 days of traveling (more on that later), this family was tired. Especially mama. I’m a true introvert and while I had an AMAZING 10 days visiting family, I came home exhausted. It took two days to recover and now I’m back to my old self.
So, I took some pictures to document what my little helpers have been doing. In addition to picking up several days’ worth of toys and clutter, they helped do laundry…
…smash cardboard boxes for recycling and take them to the garage…
…and finally, they helped sweep floors and vacuum. Anna used a small hand broom, James used the Swiffer, and I had the big broom. Then both kids took turns vacuuming downstairs while I vacuumed upstairs with the second vacuum. By lunchtime, we had the place in order!
The kids shared a lollipop together after lunch as a treat for helping mom, and after rest time we played a special game together. How wonderful to have such great helpers!
