Well, I’m finally posting about our company we had a few months back. It’s taken me some time to sort through the many photos. Thanks to Mom and Martin for sharing your pics with us.
At the end of April, Kenny’s cousin, Ainslie, and her boyfriend, Damien, visited us from Australia. The same day, my sister, Sheila, and her husband, Martin, flew in from England. Crazy that everyone was here at the same time, but also so, so fun. We had a full house but loved every minute of it.
I’d never met Ainslie before and it had been many years since Kenny had seen her, so their visit was special. Damien is a great guy and we really enjoyed getting to know him, too. And, I’d never met my brother-in-law, Martin! We were unable to be at Sheila and Martin’s wedding about a year and a half ago and have just skyped since then. What a special time to meet him, see my sister married, and see how wonderfully perfect they are for each other. It makes me so happy that she’s happy.
So, our adventure began by giving everyone the Colorado tour. We visited the Air Force Academy….
(Pictures James took inside the AFA Chapel)
…enjoyed great Mexican food…
The next day we hosted a barbecue so other family in town could visit with everyone.
The following day we were able to catch some group pictures before Ainslie and Damien left. Now we’ve officially met almost everyone (I still haven’t met Alexis!) from the “Down Under” Weatherly clan! Thanks so much for visiting, you guys! We love you!
Later that day our family and Sheila and Martin took a drive into the mountains to Cripple Creek and had a great time.
A stroll through Garden of the Gods was on the agenda the next day.
Big smiles from everyone when we visited Taco Bell. (How did it compare to Taco Johns, Martin?)
The next day we packed up for our road trip to Nebraska. The time there was very relaxing and we really enjoyed having a few more days to hang with Sheila and Martin. We visited Great Grandpa Ed, had fun at the shop with the race track and garden, Kenny made Mint Juleps for the Kentucky Derby, the boys did some target practicing, and Anna enjoyed her first ear of corn!
Sheila and Martin, we love you! Thanks so much for coming to visit!
All the pictures are wonderful!! I think Little Miss Anna has found a special bond with Sheila. The pic of AnnaLou and Jess kissin’ in the chapel is so precious!! And that pic of Kenny getting Sheila and Martin in front of the Kissing Camels is perfect!! Thanks for putting this all together, Jess! Gramma MJ
