James is attending Vacation Bible School at our church this week! Monday through Friday, he’s there all morning and he’s having a great time. His only complaint after Day 1 was that he and his classmates have to hang onto a rope when they walk anywhere. Oh the joys of being four and trying to keep everyone together. After some explaining of why it’s important, we decided he could be a good example for the stragglers.
A good friend mentioned that when her oldest went to VBS for the first time, she teared up a little thinking about this important step in growing up. I acknowledged her comment and thought to myself, “No, I’ll be fine. It’s just VBS.” Well, after saying good-bye to James today, I DID feel a little emotional. Our little boy IS growing up. In fact, he’s so grown up he thinks hanging onto a rope to walk around is a crazy idea.
And he would be right!! Oh the many times we’ve worn Upward Bound Tshirts…and then hopefully there’s the Super Soakers on the last day. Daddy can tell James all the crazy things he used to do at VBS. And before you know it, James will have a chapel chum!!
Hey there James -just wondering how that Aussie Crocodile Egg is going? xx A.Jenny
