Lately, James and Anna have really come a long way in the area of playing together. There are still plenty of times where they want their own time alone and are quick to pester the other to get it, but overall, they seem to play together better. Thank you, Lord!
After the library trip last week, James has been all about space! He found a great book that has taught all of us some things. So, after rest time one day he came down with his backpack full of food and supplies he’d need while on the spaceship. Later that afternoon I observed both kids playing “spaceship”. James asked Anna to get in the back, he gave her some food, told her to fasten her seat belt, and they were off!
The next day James set up a library and asked his sister to be part of it.
Lastly, I have found the two of them playing parent and child several times. After Anna woke up cranky from her nap one day this week, James proceeded to sit with her, tell her it was okay, and hold her drink up for her. Wow. Last week I heard Anna whimpering and James lovingly taking care of her…covering her with a blanket and going to retrieve her baby doll. Amazing. James likes to feel needed and Anna loves the attention, of course. I’m not sure how long this will last, but for now, it’s pretty sweet.
