Mother’s Day 2014

These two kiddos make motherhood a joy!  Of course, sometimes I complain about how much there is to do and how much they need me, but at the end of the day, I love them to pieces and it’s all worth it.  Kenny says, “If we’d known how much fun parenting them was going to be, we would have had kids sooner!”  It’s true!

Yesterday was a great day: Sunday school and church at our wonderful church home, lunch at Panera, naps for everyone, and then Kenny cooked dinner for me, Mary Jo, and Lynn and Ryan.  It was a really nice evening.  And, we even squeezed in an impromptu nerf gun fight before the kids went to bed.  Not exactly a “getting-ready-for-bed” activity, but it was so much fun.  While Dad had the gun, James and I took cover with diaper boxes.

When we left for church yesterday, it was cold, but clear.  When we finished church, we had a raging blizzard and ended up with several inches of snow!  I remember snow in April in previous years, but snow in the middle of May was kind of a shock.  I kind of feel like it was a special Mother’s Day gift for me from God.  I prefer the cold weather to hot, so it was a nice little treat.  One more day for sweaters!

Thank you to my family for the wonderful Mother’s Day wishes, presents, and hugs.  I love you all!
