This past week James was on Spring Break so we made sure to plan some fun activities. Kenny even took two days off to hang out with us. We thoroughly enjoyed having a more relaxed schedule each day. So, once we explained to James what Spring Break was, he was set to have some fun!
James has been wanting to do more cooking, so we found a recipe in a kid’s cookbook to make your own tortilla chips. So easy and yummy!
Of course, we had to have ice cream!
The next day was cold and snowy, so we stayed in with hot chocolate and a movie, made banana bread, and measured the kiddos to see how much they’ve grown.
The following day was back to lovely weather, so we headed to a new park. We found some fun playground equipment and even our first geocache! Exciting!
Kenny and the kids worked on cleaning off the garden.
And, we braved the crowds and enjoyed our local zoo for the day! We had SO much fun. We spent more than four hours there and still didn’t see everything. The zoo is much easier and more enjoyable now that the kids are older…for several years we had to push a stroller up those hills with all of our gear. And, I even have memories of nursing both kids in the gorilla house, which is one of the more quiet, secluded places in the zoo. Too funny. This trip was so much easier!
Afterwards, we all showered, had a brief rest time, and went out for dinner. A fun end to our Spring Break!
