Yesterday was James’s first day of 2nd Grade!  His bag has been packed for weeks, his clothes were laid out the night before, and for breakfast he requested crock pot oatmeal which we started before bed.  The morning went smoothly despite having to wake James up.

He was itching to go but we managed to snap a few obligatory ‘first day of school’ pictures on the front step.  After the boys left, the only tears were from Anna who was already missing big brother.  She and I were kind of at a loss yesterday without James, although, I do think it’s gone better than last year.  Last year on his first day of first grade, I cried too.

So, all afternoon we looked forward to going to pick him up – one of our favorite times of day.  He had a wonderful day, has another awesome teacher, and talked non-stop the whole way home.  My prayer for you, James, this school year is that you will not only grow in knowledge, but also grow in your desire and love for Jesus.  We are so proud of you, James!

We are looking forward to some great memories in 2nd grade!
