Last Monday Anna-girl turned five. I can’t believe it! Five years has certainly flown by. We celebrated with a princess party on Sunday where family and four friends attended. We played Pin the Tiara on the Princess, had some yummy cake and ice cream, and gave the girls time to play together.
Anna received lots of fun Barbie dolls and clothes, and Kenny and I gave her a baby doll with a basket full of doll clothes I used as a girl. (Thanks, Mom, for saving all of them – and the basket!) Many of the clothes were made by Grace, an adopted grandma that our family cherished and loved. So special that Anna can use them now.
Anna is in preschool two mornings a week and is loving every minute of it. She’s made many new friends and is always excited to go. She has a confident and fun-loving personality that has served her well in school. Kenny always says that Anna is such a joyful little girl. Of course there are times she’s not, but overall, she is happy and full of joy. She enjoys Sunday School and often offers to help serve in some way while she’s there. She still loves putting together fun outfits that are perfect for her. Her hair has grown longer and she can now wear pigtail braids. So cute. She has a handful of freckles starting to show across her nose. She is quick to help in the kitchen and is right there when Kenny is fixing or building something. She loves to play Barbie dolls, but is often found wrestling with James, too. We recently removed the railing on the side of her bed, and after falling out twice in the night, she is now used to sleeping in her big, twin bed safely. She loves her big brother and has entered the stage where she likes what he likes. While James doesn’t always love this, she simply wants to be like him. And, the big news of the week – Anna lost her first tooth the week of her birthday, on Thanksgiving! Unfortunately, the tooth fairy forgot to visit that night; probably because of the holiday. The next night she came, though, leaving twice as much money!
Anna, we all love you so much! Our family is complete with you, and we are so thankful to call you ours. We wish you the happiest of birthdays and pray the coming year is full of blessings. May God continue to draw you to Himself and mold you into a loving young lady.
Looks like a fun birthday celebration!
Well done Jessica!! This is a great birthday tribute to Anna-girl!
