Making homemade ice cream…
And another summer at Lake McConaughy in the books.
We attended the Front Street shoot-out and show while we were in town. The Front Street Crystal Palace Revue is in its 58th year and is the longest-running summer stock theater production in Nebraska. My sister and I were part of this show for several years while in high school and early college. I played the part of “Sam”, the piano man, and Sheila was a dance hall girl. We really enjoyed those years and it’s been fun returning, finding our cast picture on the wall, and enjoying the show with the family now. We’ve gone twice with the kids in recent years and both times Kenny has been selected from the crowd to come up on stage and join in the fun. Somehow they must know he’s a natural on stage.
Last month, our week vacation included some time in Nebraska seeing my parents, and doing some family things a few days back at home. We so enjoyed our week together.
Cornfields and cattle mean we’re getting close to NE…
Because of a detour on the way to NE, we decided to stop in Brule where my Dad’s parents are buried, and visit their grave. So many memories with G’pa Ed and G’ma Wilma in Brule.
We always enjoy seeing Dad’s garden every summer. He works so hard and it’s beautiful!
Mom spends her time tending flowers and they are gorgeous.
Driving to North Platte to visit Cody Go-Carts was on our list to do this trip. The go-carts and bumper boats are always lots of fun.
