Holy Week

This year, with the stay-at-home order, we had much more time to focus on Holy Week culminating in Easter Sunday.  It was really lovely.

Beginning with Palm Sunday, each night we read the day’s events from scripture.  On Thursday, we celebrated the Passover meal; something I’ve wanted to do as a family for years.  Weeks earlier I’d been thinking about it, and in God’s perfect timing, a friend put together and posted a family friendly seder meal.  Since she did the hard work for me, I jumped at the chance to pull this off this year.  I simply printed the booklet, gathered the items, and Kenny led us through the script.  It was simple, beautiful, and so meaningful.  The kids are old enough to understand the symbolism now and we enjoyed some great questions and conversation together.  I highly recommend this if you’re interested!

We also dyed eggs…

and had an egg hunt.

Kenny took the kids on a hike…

and built a fun bird feeder.

Resurrection Sunday was a great day of worship, phone calls with family, and a feast for dinner.  He is Risen!
