So far this summer has been busy! We’ve hosted my parents, my sister and her family, and my brother and his family! We’ve had wonderful visits with them all, but now we are enjoying a slower summer and I’m loving it.
Days of playing outside, visiting the library and working on the reading program, grilling and eating on the deck, watching movies on rainy afternoons, ice cream cones, gymnastics class, T-ball games, and needed baths every night now. Of course, we still have chores to do too, but a balance of work and play is so wonderful and freeing.
I’ve had two full months of feeling 100%, praise God, and am motivated to blog and get caught up here. Much has happened in the past months and I’m looking forward to writing and sharing about it here. Nothing huge, just life in general with our family.
As I evaluate at this half-way point of summer, I’m so very thankful for the visits and fun we’ve had thus far. I’m very mindful about scheduling slow days where we are home, have nowhere to be, and nothing big to do. Those are my favorite days, and for the last half of summer I plan to schedule more of them. Slow days have become my kids’ favorite kind of days too, which is wonderful.
So thankful you’re feeling better, and glad you’re enjoying summer!
