Scattered and Small

The worship leader at our church, Mark Tedder, started a new project this year: Scattered and Small.  He and his wife, Carrie, have been worship leaders for many, many years.  In addition to leading worship for us fairly regularly at church, their full-time ministry is training up other worship leaders around the world.  We have been more than blessed by their contribution at church and love what they’ve brought to our worship time.

Scattered and Small is a series of twelve minute online worship services for people around the world who aren’t able to worship with a local church body.  Persecuted peoples, home-bound folks, or those that have left a local church for some reason.  The services are simply a few worship songs and readings of scripture.  They aren’t flashy or polished, just a short time of worship.

The Tedders, along with other musicians, have been filming these since the beginning of the year, and post a new service each week.  Most are in English and some are in other languages.  Almost every week they hear from a new person in some corner of the world that found the service online and was blessed by it.  Incredible.  I think this project is amazing.  The Tedders would say this wasn’t their idea, but very clearly a call or direction from God – even down to the details of how to carry it through.

Maybe you know someone who is unable to regularly attend a local church who would benefit from this.  Or, maybe you know someone in another part of the earth who is not free to worship openly.  Share Scattered and Small with them and may it be a blessing to many.
