Oh this girl. Anna has said a few things recently that I don’t want to forget. Her sense of humor and personality are evident more and more every day and we’re loving hearing her thoughts and ideas about life. You can read past Anna-isms posts here and here. I love this photo of her – I think she looks like a little flapper from the 20’s!
While on a walk this week Anna said, “Mom, that tree is bald!” Of course, the leaves here are all falling and yes, many of the trees DO look bald!
One day after waking with zero energy I abandoned my list of errands and Anna and I stayed home instead. While explaining to Anna what we were doing she said, “It’s okay mom, we don’t have to hurry at all. We can just take it easy and slow down.” She’s been listening as this idea of “SLOW” has permeated our home.
That same day we chose to stay home and slow down, we decided to plan her birthday party for next month. We were discussing small favors to give her friends and Anna said, “Maybe we could give them a very beautiful red leaf from our tree out back!” She was so genuine about it and was disappointed when I told her all the leaves would be gone in a month. She quickly decided princess stickers would be just as wonderful.
One night after her bath, Kenny was brushing Anna’s hair and they were discussing some sort of big idea about kids. Anna said, “No, I’m going to be a hair-style girl.” Kenny replied, “Well you can still have kids and be a hair-style girl.” Anna: “No, I’m just going to have grand-kids.” We both muffled our laughs. She’ll figure that out one day.
And my favorite…while driving home one night after small group, I pointed out the full moon to Anna. So beautiful. Her words were: “It’s so gorgeous, Mom! I just can’t get over it!” I chuckled a little at her comment and she said, “Mom, that’s what you say all the time!” So sweet. I’ve heard “It’s so gorgeous!” more from Anna recently; I think it’s now become her phrase.
We love you and all your big ideas, Anna-girl!
