February Fun

The Christmas puzzle saga continued into February, & I’m happy to report that I finished by Valentine’s Day! I was so thrilled I had Anna take my picture. Initially, I was missing one piece but it was later found. Probably won’t expect the family to tackle another 1000-piece puzzle – we’ve learned our lesson!

Anna has been into baking more & made mini-Oreo cheesecakes all on her own. Delicious! This is what was left after we served them to guests one night.

Our family attended The Princess Bride in concert. The Colorado Springs Philharmonic played the musical score while the movie was projected on a screen. It was incredible! This was our first movie experience with live music & it was fascinating.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day on a couple of different days. Kenny & I enjoyed a lunch date out on the 14th. Then we had our traditional fondue another night when the kids were free.

Anna spent weeks working on a science project for school. Each student was to write a report & create a model of their sea creature. Anna chose the Crown of Thorns Starfish – a beautiful but harmful creature.

Anna introducing a poem at a Friday assembly…

Family Jenga night…so much fun & laughter together.

A beautiful view on the drive to church one Sunday after a snow…

And lastly, a friend I invited over for lunch brought me these beautiful tulips. Typically, because of the family’s allergies we can’t have fresh flowers in the house. But these were so beautiful & I wasn’t sure we’d ever tried tulips before, so decided to keep them. They didn’t bother anyone which I was grateful for. And, since it was still winter, they added such a sunny cheer to the house.
